RESOURCES ADVOCACY INITIATIVE (RAI) is a national, empowerment and an independent Non-governmental Organization (NGO) which works with communities to influence pro-poor policies and transparency in governance to ensure full participation of citizens in the utilization of public resources to improve economic justice, social services delivery, good governance and human rights.
Founding Principles.
- Governance and Accountability: RAI is dedicated to empower citizens and other developmental actors to
influence pro-poor policies and strategies in order to ensure that; the
government is open, accountable, responsive and participatory to the
people; and actively implements good governance, rule of law and zero
tolerance to corruption in governance.
- Humanity and Dignity: RAI focus in mobilizing of citizens in the community to implement zero tolerance to any kind of injustice, violence and discrimination; and that, every human-being must be protected, fairly treated and served equally by laws, services, decisions and actions; regardless of their race, location, language, income, sex, age or status.
- Income and Welfare: Poverty and suffering are unacceptable conditions for everyone in the community; and that, the community should equally access to and enjoy the available public resources through improved income and social services delivery for the indigenous poor citizens in the society; and that, the public resources are prudently utilized and distributed equally in the community for general sustainable development.
